Arriving at the villa
The drive climbs through Mediterranean planting to a stone façade and a garage dug into the rock — four cars, won back from the hillside.

Stone, timber and Mediterranean planting
Local stone, timber gates and mature planting anchor the villa in the hillside, with the pool and barbecue terrace above the house.

Staircase, light and lift
A sculptural stair wraps the glazed lift shaft under a curved, back-lit ceiling — the heart of the plan and its main source of daylight.

Several living rooms, a kitchen and a dining area open onto the terraces, designed in a neoclassical style with modern elements.

£2,500,000 of construction, seen before it began
The whole villa was visualised and animated before work started, so the owners could walk through the house while it was still a drawing.
Neoclassical villa on the Cap Ferrat peninsula
This project was designed together with a construction company that designs and builds multi-million properties in the South of France. The property included several living rooms, a kitchen, two master suites and two secondary bedroom suites. It also has an underground car park and a lift for two people. The cost of refurbishing and construction was £2,500,000. Villa La Belle is on the Cap Ferrat peninsula, to the east of Nice, France. The unique landscape of Cap Ferrat is challenging, with a height difference of approximately 30m between the lowest and highest points of the property.
The architects came up with the idea of digging down into the rock to gain space for a garage that fits up to 4 cars. The luxurious lift brings you to the top floors, with fantastic views of the Mediterranean Sea and the property's multi-level gardens. Further up, above the house, is an outdoor swimming pool, and a couple of metres higher a barbecue area. At the top of the hill is an observatory where guests can watch the stars together. The interior was designed to the owner’s taste and preferences, in a Neoclassical style with modern elements.
